Imagine a special door lock that can recognize faces, just like your phone can unlock when it sees your face. This door lock uses something called an ESP32 CAM, which is like a tiny computer that can do lots of cool things.
So, how does it work? Well, the ESP32 CAM has a camera attached to it. When someone comes near the door, the camera takes a quick picture of their face. Then, it checks if the face matches the ones it knows. If it’s a match, like if it recognizes you or someone else who’s allowed to enter, it unlocks the door automatically. If it doesn’t recognize the face, the door stays locked.
It’s like having your own personal bouncer for your door! Plus, since it’s automatic, you don’t even need to use a key or remember a code. It makes getting in and out of your house super easy and secure.
Working : Our system runs on the ESP32 CAM circuit. The Circuit Diagram for the ESP32-CAM Faces Recognition Door Lock System includes an FTDI board, Relay Module, and Solenoid Lock.
We use the FTDI board to load the code onto the ESP32-CAM because it lacks a USB connector. The relay module is used to control the Solenoid lock, turning it on or off.
To teach the ESP32-CAM to recognize faces, we first need to enroll them. To do this, we activate the Face recognition and detection features in the settings and then click on the Enroll Face button. It may take a few tries to successfully save the faces.
Once the faces are enrolled, if a recognized face appears in the video feed, the ESP32 will signal the relay module to unlock the door. Whenever someone approaches the door, the system checks if their face is registered and, if so, it opens the door.
Understanding the Solenoid Lock:
A solenoid lock operates on an electronic-mechanical locking mechanism. It consists of a slug with a slanted cut and a sturdy mounting bracket. When power is applied, DC generates a magnetic field that moves the slug inward, unlocking the door. The slug remains in this position until power is cut off. Upon disconnection of power, the slug retracts outward, effectively locking the door. Notably, the lock consumes no power when in the locked state, enhancing energy efficiency and security.
